Mark Ramsey has one of my favorite blogs Hear 2.0– let alone “radio blogs” and today is an excellent example why – he interviews Seth Godin about radio.

Though full of interesting ideas I hope the radio industry is looking at, from a radio advertisers perspective, I think Seth’s most important comment of the entire interview was “The idea of radio… audio determined by an external editor… isn’t going away any time soon. People like it.”
I think that’s the real definition of “radio” – passive audio entertainment. Of course that can still be an internet channel I provided a list of perferences for – a podcast and even an mp3 player on shuffle. It’s important not to get too caught up – or bogged down in over-conceptualization.
I though the most important comment was in regards to how we view our own business. Are we in the FCC licence leverage business – or in the entertainment business?
